Overview

Gulmarg Gondola is the second longest and second tallest cable car in the world and the main attraction in Gulmarg. Divided into two stages, it ferries about 600 people per hour and from the Aphrawat Mountains. Phase II: from Kongdori Station to Kongdori Mountain (3747 m), the shoulder of Apharwat Peak which takes 12 minutes. Gulmarg Gondola offers a spectacular view of Nandadevi, LOC and Pir Panjal Range. Apart from nurturing the beauty of the Himalayan ranges, tourists can enjoy other activities such as horse riding and snow skiing. The Cable Car Project is a joint venture of the Jammu & Kashmir Government and French from Pomagalski. The Phase I was completed in 1998 and Phase II was completed in two years and it opened for public in May 2005.
